Destination Hong Kong

Before coming to Hong Kong I definitely did my home work exploring all possible ways to spend time and see the place. But even this research left me with a feeling of flying to the land of skyscrapers. I still wonder if it’s a lack of savvyness or just an obvious stereotype you get considering the content of major tourism sites.

Anyway, the land of skyscrapers amazed me with everything, but skyscrapers itself. Whenever you understand that this is the land of two hundred islands with unbelievable touristic resources and amazing diversity, your picture is changing. You can hardly stick to major attractions and your passion calls you to explore each and every piece of this heavenly mysterious pie called Hong Kong. It’s probably very similar to Chinese dessert that I had a chance to taste – you never know what’s inside and there is no way to taste each and every item available.

With this feeling of infinity I managed to visit just a few places, but impact is unbelievable. When you cross over the Harbor in a small box of Ngong Ping Skyrail, you think – that’s a climax, but suddenly you rise over the mountain and landscape is even more thrilling. Giant Buddha is so close! He is sitting patiently and waiting for a new bunch of photo gurus to come and add their bit of talent to his powerful character.

That’s it? No! Just in a few steps you find yourself in the most important religious place in Hong Kong – Po Lin Monastery. Here you can taste some more Chinese noodles and desserts. But no alcohol and meat allowed – Buddha’s liver can’t stand more of this ugly western shit.

However, Buddha approves Venice traditions and welcomes you in the Tai O – small fishermen village, where fish and only fish is an absolute value of life. The contrast with major Hong Kong is so huge! It’s not a gap; it’s just a different perspective, because Tai O is certainly one of the best places to visit, if you want to see Chinese Hong Kong in place.

Take a look at the beauties of Lantau Island. Escape from the crowded streets and polluted places – give yourself a chance to walk along the Cheng Sha beach, attack smaller islands with your infinite curiosity, climb Pottinger Peak and give yourself more chance for hiking, thinking and reflecting.

Hong Kong will swamp you with variety of activities and you will never think about heat or humidity anymore. Your life will run faster than ever feeding your brain with generous impressions, ideas and notes. There is no way you will ever forget this place!
